We’re working with a well-established, values-led environmental consultancy to appoint a Senior Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) Advisor as their BNG service continues to grow nationally.

This is a senior technical and advisory role with real influence, shaping BNG delivery, quality standards, and future service direction, not just producing reports.

The role

  • Lead on QA of BNG deliverables including feasibility studies, full BNG assessments, HMMPs and Biodiversity Gain Plans
  • Support and mentor ecologists and advisors across the business
  • Contribute to the development of BNG strategy, resources and best practice
  • Advise clients, planners and stakeholders on complex BNG matters
  • Stay ahead of emerging guidance, legislation and case law
  • Support the delivery of complex and high-risk BNG sites where required

  • Strong understanding of how BNG sits within the UK planning system
  • Solid botany and UKHab experience
  • Knowledge of current BNG policy, guidance and case law
  • Experience with GIS / digital field tools (Coreo desirable)
  • Experience with habitat banks or habitat management is a bonus
