The Role: As a Principal Ecologist, you will be responsible for delivering a wide variety of ecological projects. You will collaborate with technical specialists, mentor junior team members, and engage with clients to provide expert advice. Lead and deliver ecological surveys, including protected species assessments and habitat assessments. Manage complex ecological projects from inception to completion, ensuring quality outcomes. Support and mentor junior ecologists, fostering growth and sharing your expertise. Contribute to business development by building relationships with clients and identifying new opportunities. Engage with multidisciplinary teams to deliver nature-based solutions that leave a lasting impact.
You will be an experienced ecologist with a solid understanding of UK environmental legislation, habitat assessments, and protected species surveys. Degree in ecology, environmental science, or a related field. Solid technical knowledge of ecological survey methodologies, species identification, and relevant environmental legislation. Experience in managing projects and mentoring team members. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build solid client relationships. A proactive attitude with a passion for promoting sustainable solutions. UK Driving Licence.
