Ready to take your Environmental career somewhere it can genuinely grow and make an on-the-ground impact? Most experienced Consultants and Advisors aren’t trawling job boards for their next move – they wait for the right opportunity to find them. If you’re reading this, there’s a good chance this is it. After welcoming five brilliant new team members last year, and with long-term project wins continuing across the region, we’re growing sustainably and looking for another talented professional to join us.

Our client is known for doing things properly. No box-ticking. No “good enough.” We support clients across renewables, infrastructure, utilities, and land management with environmental oversight that genuinely improves project outcomes. Now, we’re looking for an Environmental Clerk of Works who shares that ethos.

This isn’t another churn-and-burn site role. It’s your chance to:

  • Take ownership of your projects and build meaningful, long-term experience
  • Access real training, mentoring, and support toward specialist accreditation and chartership
  • Work across some of the most exciting environmental and infrastructure projects in the north of Scotland

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading on-site environmental audits, inspections, and compliance checks
  • Monitoring contractor activities and ensuring adherence to environmental mitigation measures
  • Delivering toolbox talks and providing clear, confident guidance on environmental best practice
  • Producing accurate site reports, Environmental Management Plans (EMPs), and compliance documentation
  • Balancing fieldwork, reporting, and stakeholder communication
  • Working across a mix of remote landscapes, infrastructure projects, and active construction sites

What we’re looking for:

  • 2-6 years’ experience in Environmental Clerk of Works duties or environmental consultancy
  • Degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
  • Strong understanding of Scottish/UK environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks
  • Membership of IEMA, CIWEM, or similar (or working toward it)
  • Solid knowledge of environmental mitigation, pollution prevention, and site environmental risks
  • Full UK driving licence & access to your own vehicle (4x4/off-road experience is a bonus)
  • Confident communicator with excellent reporting and organisational skills

What’s in it for you:

  • £40,000–£50,000, depending on experience
  • Profit share scheme
  • Paid travel – no more unpaid early starts
  • Investment in your development, training, and progression
  • Hybrid working and flexible hours
  • Generous holiday allowance + pension
  • Support toward specialist licences and chartered status
  • A genuinely healthy work-life balance

Because you’ll finally get the balance right: meaningful projects, real progression, and a team that values expertise over ego. You’ll be trusted, supported, and given the space to grow – without sacrificing the life you’ve built outside of work.
