The Role
- Drive the growth of the ecology pipeline for Yorkshire and beyond.
- Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring excellent service and repeat business.
- Lead and manage exciting, complex projects from inception to completion.
- Mentor and inspire junior team members, building a strong, skilled ecology team.
- Engage in business development, attending networking events to expand opportunities across multiple disciplines.
- Collaborate closely with Directors and other regional leads to deliver integrated environmental solutions.
About You
You’re an experienced ecologist who enjoys both leading teams and building lasting client partnerships. You’re confident managing high-level projects, have strong technical expertise, and thrive on finding solutions that balance client needs with environmental priorities.
Essential:
- Degree in ecology, biological sciences, or related discipline.
- Full member of CIEEM (or working towards Chartership).
- Strong ecological survey skills (UKHab, protected species, botanical).
- Experience managing projects, budgets, and teams.
- Ability to produce and review high-quality ecological reports, including PEAs, EIAs, BNG reports, and HRAs.
- Excellent understanding of UK legislation and planning policy.
- Strong communication skills, able to liaise effectively with statutory bodies and LPAs.
- A track record in business development and networking.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
- At least one protected species licence.
- Experience in EIA and HRA processes.
