Lead Bid Writer / Bid Manager – Defence & National Security in City of London

Our client is an award-winning strategic communications and research consultancy working for UK government and international clients, often in fragile and conflict-affected countries. They’re growing their UK government business and want an experienced bid lead to take ownership of how they bid and win.

This is a senior role working directly with the leadership team. You’ll:

• Lead bids from start to finish, from bid/no-bid decisions and win themes through to final submission
• Write and review the most important sections yourself, including key personnel CVs
• Get the best out of contributors who are experts in their field but not natural bid writers
• Put the processes, content library and pipeline tracking in place
• Advise leadership on which opportunities are worth chasing

You’ll need:

• A track record of winning UK government contracts, ideally with MOD, FCDO, Cabinet Office or Home Office
• Experience leading bids and working with senior stakeholders
• A sound grasp of government procurement and frameworks
• Current or previous SC or DV clearance, which is highly desirable
• APMP or Shipley training, which would be a plus but isn’t essential

This suits someone who enjoys shaping how things are done, with the chance to make a visible difference to a growing business.

Salary: £65,000-£80,000 DOE + benefits package.
