About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and reliable HGV Class 1 Driver to join our transport team.

This is a varied role involving the collection and transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous waste, whilst ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance and customer service.

The successful candidate will primarily undertake Class 1 driving duties but will also be required to provide cover for Class 2 work as operational needs require.

Flexibility and a willingness to support the wider transport team are essential.

  • Key Accountabilities
  • Collect hazardous and non-hazardous waste using Class 1 vehicles.
  • Provide Class 2 driving cover when required to support operational demands.
  • Operate vehicles safely and in line with company procedures and legal requirements.
  • Load, unload and handle waste materials, including lifting drums (up to 25kg) and moving pallets using a pump truck.
  • Deliver excellent customer service when attending customer sites.
  • Complete all required transport documentation accurately.
  • Work closely with the transport depot to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • The Candidate
  • Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.
  • Current Driver CPC qualification and Digi-card.
  • Previous HGV driving experience.
  • Willingness to undertake both Class 1 and Class 2 work when required.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills with the ability to complete transport paperwork accurately.
  • Flexible and dependable approach to work.
  • ADR licence desirable but not essential, as training can be provided.
  • Waste industry experience advantageous but not essential.
