The Payroll Officer must have excellent communication skills, experience in a fast-paced environment where they are confident building and maintaining relationships with other departments and have intermediate-level Excel knowledge. They should be proactive, flexible, and organised with excellent planning and prioritisation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing weekly and fortnightly payroll
  • Checking for changes to normal schedules with the Operations department
  • Managing permanent contract schedules and any changes to them
  • Arranging and sending payslips to staff
  • Dealing with wage queries via phone & email
  • Updating and maintaining personnel records on our payroll & HR system
  • Starters and leavers administration
  • Existing staff enquiries such as complaints, change of details, etc.
  • General Administration
  • Sharing of answering the phones
  • Cleanology emails – website inquiries, job applications, random
  • Special projects, as required and directed by the Payroll Manager or HR Director
  • Cover other team members when on holiday

The Person – our minimum skill requirements:

  • Highly proactive, flexible, enthusiastic, and pragmatic delivery-oriented approach with ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and prioritisation skills
  • Able to work autonomously, and comfortable with rapid change, as well as working as part of a wider team
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • IT literate – Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Experience using Paycircle and Rotageek is desirable but not essential
  • Previous office experience desirable but not essential
  • Previous payroll experience desirable but not essential
  • Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is desirable but not essential
  • Competent levels of planning and organisation
  • Numeracy and literacy to a good level
  • Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • High levels of attention to detail & accuracy
  • A strong work ethic
