KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Financial Operations: Prepare mid-month and end-of-month payment runs, ensuring all transactions are accurate and timely.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure financial stability and business liquidity.
- Debtors Management: Develop and implement strategies to reduce debtor days and improve cash collection efficiency.
- Cost Control: Drive cost-saving initiatives and operational efficiencies across the organization.
- Management Reporting: Prepare monthly management accounts and contribute to the creation of board reports.
- Contract: Manage new contracts in line with company processes.
- Compliance and Reporting: Review and submit quarterly VAT returns and support year-end audit and statutory account preparation.
- Support on budgeting and forecasting.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with contract managers, finance team, and senior leaders; adopt a hands‑on approach as needed.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of two finance assistants, fostering professional development and accountability.
- Finance Admin/Support: Perform additional duties as directed by the Finance Director. Assist with operational finance tasks to meet deadlines and maintain smooth workflow. Contribute to system enhancements and implementation projects.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to start in April.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Proven experience in an SME or high-growth environment; commercial cleaning or facilities management experience is advantageous.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software.
- A confident and articulate communicator capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience in managing and mentoring finance teams.
- Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Excellent organizational skills with a proactive, solution‑oriented approach.
- A 'can‑do' attitude is required as well as experience within a sizeable business.
