THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for an experienced and driven ESG & Health and Safety Manager to join Cleanology at an exciting time in our continued growth. This role will be a stand-alone role heading up a new department.

As the ESG and Health & Safety Manager, you will help strengthen and advance our safety and environmental compliance framework across approximately 400 sites. This is an exciting role for a seasoned professional who thrives in fast‑paced, complex environments and is confident overseeing safety and compliance across multiple sites. You will play a key role in developing, implementing, and monitoring our corporate EHS programmes, ensuring our people, sites, and operations meet the highest standards of safety, environmental protection, and regulatory compliance.

You will act as the subject matter expert for Health & Safety, working closely with operational teams, managers, and external partners to promote safe working practices across our cleaning operations, client sites, and corporate functions. This role plays a critical part in supporting the wider ESG and sustainability agenda across the business.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Provide expert Health & Safety guidance across the business
  • Ensure legal compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation
  • Support audits, inspections and certification processes
  • Promote a strong and positive safety culture across all cleaning operations
  • Deliver training, inductions and awareness programmes
  • Monitor incidents, KPIs and performance reporting
  • Prepare ESG and Health & Safety reports
  • Support environmental, wellbeing and sustainability initiatives

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR

Essential:

  • Strong UK H&S legislative knowledge
  • A confident and articulate communicator capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • ESG or sustainability exposure
  • Significant experience as an Environmental Health and Safety professional, including strong experience supporting construction projects
  • Working knowledge of ISO 45001, 9001 and 14001. Knowledge of other EU directives would be a plus.

Desirable:

  • NEBOSH qualification or equivalent
  • ISO 45001 experience
  • Proven experience in an SME or high-growth environment; commercial cleaning or facilities management experience is advantageous.
