This entry-level position involves assisting experienced technicians in implementing bird proofing solutions, learning practical skills, and contributing to effective pest management for our clients.
Responsibilities
- Assist senior technicians in the installation of bird netting, spikes, wire systems, and other proofing measures on various structures (e.g., roofs, ledges, balconies).
- Learn and apply safe working practices, including working at heights using ladders, scaffolding, and potentially MEWPs (Mobile Elevating Work Platforms).
- Prepare work areas, including cleaning and clearing sites prior to installation.
- Handle and transport tools, equipment, and materials to and from job sites.
- Support in identifying bird entry points, nesting areas, and suitable proofing strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and site observations.
- Communicate effectively with team members and, under supervision, with clients.
- Adhere to all company policies, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge in bird proofing techniques.
Qualifications
- No prior experience in pest control is required, but a strong willingness to learn and a positive attitude are essential.
- A valid UK driving licence is preferred due to travel to various client sites.
- Comfortable with working at heights and in various outdoor weather conditions.
- Good physical fitness and manual dexterity for carrying equipment and performing installations.
- Basic problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- A strong work ethic and a commitment to delivering high‑quality service.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under supervision.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
