We’re looking for experienced, professional drivers who share our commitment to people, partners, and the planet. This position requires 100% travel, including extensive overnight travel, as you will be on the road full‑time serving customer locations across your assigned region. You will pack, transport, and properly dispose of waste material in accordance with our environmentally responsible policies and procedures. The role is physically demanding and requires a driven approach with timely completion of assigned tasks and the willingness to adapt to a high‑demand environment with a customer‑service mindset. Maintaining compliance with DOT, EPA, OSHA, and local regulatory entities is essential, requiring ongoing training and awareness.
Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Pick up and transport waste safely according to all federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
- Label containers and complete pre‑printed manifests & work orders while adhering to your assigned route.
- Classify, segregate, and inventory waste containers in storage for shipment.
- Conduct lab pack operations, packing small laboratory containers of chemical waste into larger containers for shipment.
- Perform various regulatory training, compliance, and safety tasks, including pre‑trip inspections, reporting all losses, spills, accidents, leaking containers, waste diversion, and safety violations to supervisor immediately.
- Professional contact with all levels of customers daily to deliver, promote, and collect waste containers, maintaining regular communication with personnel at all levels.
- Overnights required.
- Provide services related to hazardous and non‑hazardous waste removal from customer sites.
- Process and prepare Universal Hazardous Waste manifests, bills of lading, and Land Disposal Restrictions (LDRs) for hazardous waste shipment in accordance with state, EPA, and DOT regulations.
- Perform warehouse work related to receipt, shipment, storage, distribution, or delivery of waste materials, loading, unloading, moving, or storing items per delivery or routing documents, or supervisor instructions, and performing general housekeeping.
- Adhere to assigned route via electronic routing system, escalating any deviations to management.
- Operate a hand truck, drum dolly, pallet jack, and forklift.
- Maintain the basic functionality and cleanliness of assigned company vehicle and equipment.
- Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Basic Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- CDL Class B.
- DOT HAZMAT Endorsement.
- Basic computer skills.
- Must have the ability to perform and maintain all assigned training related to essential functions.
- Maintains a current Medical Examiner’s Certificate (MEC).
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong working knowledge of environmental, regulatory, and DOT rules and regulations.
- Knowledge of how to use and troubleshoot computer software applications including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to read a map.
- Driver E‑Log experience.
- Some college or waste industry experience.
