Director of Super Pollutants and Health

The Clean Air Fund is looking for a Director of Super Pollutants and Health to join the team in London, Delhi or Johannesburg.

This role will oversee the organization’s work on health and super pollutants, delivery of research grants, leadership over policy and advocacy, funding acquisition, and team development.

Responsibilities

  • Direct Clean Air Fund’s work on health and super pollutants, ensuring large‑scale climate and health programmes are well‑led and delivered to plan.
  • Drive policy‑relevant research outputs and advocacy to scale up the super pollutants programme.
  • Secure future funding and implement grants and projects across science, communications, policy, and implementation.
  • Lead portfolio strategies, support grant‑making, build key relationships and strengthen health focuses at regional, country, and city levels.
  • Act as the senior external face of CAF on super pollutants and health, communicating with ministers, donors, and academics.
  • Coordinate teams, build expertise on climate science and policy, and guide interdisciplinary collaborations.

Qualifications

  • Empathetic and effective leadership skills with ability to adapt styles across contexts.
  • Extensive experience directing policy‑relevant projects and research with varied deadlines.
  • Proven partnership development and high‑level external representation experience.
  • Financial management experience, particularly managing budgets of $10m+ and interrogating grant costings.
  • Excellent planning, time management, multi‑tasking skills across complex tasks.
  • Experience in health, air pollution, super pollutants and climate change, within research settings preferred.
  • Strong grasp of science and policy of air pollution, health, and climate mitigation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for building networks and managing team members.
  • Experience with philanthropy and grant making.
  • Fluent in English, excellent written and verbal communication.

Compensation & Employment

Full‑time. Salary commensurate with experience. Closing date – 10th July 2026.

Location

London, Delhi, or Johannesburg.
