The Clean Air Association (CAA) is a public-interest non-profit organisation dedicated to improving air quality and environmental protection, with a strong focus on vehicle emissions, regulatory compliance, and environmental justice. We work closely with lawyers, technical experts, regulators, and international partners to promote accountability and transparency.

We are seeking a motivated individual to support our legal and regulatory work on a flexible, voluntary basis. This role is particularly well suited to law students, graduates, and early-career professionals seeking practical experience in environmental and regulatory work, but applications are welcome from anyone with relevant skills and a strong interest in our mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting with engagement and correspondence with regulators and public authorities
  • Preparing Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) and Freedom of Information (FOI) requests
  • Supporting the drafting of legal and regulatory documents
  • Assisting with submissions, consultation responses, and policy papers
  • Helping to prepare case bundles and supporting materials
  • Conducting legal and factual research
  • Providing general support on ongoing environmental and emissions-related projects
About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has an interest in law, public policy, regulation, or environmental issues
  • Has strong written communication skills and good attention to detail
  • Is organised, reliable, and able to manage their time independently
  • Is motivated by public-interest work and advocacy
  • Is keen to learn and contribute meaningfully
  • Legal training or experience is helpful but not essential
