CLdN Ports is looking for an additional Port Operative to join the busy fast-paced environment of Port Operations.

Your role:

  • Drive / operate heavy plant and machinery such as Tugmasters, translifters
  • Discharge and load vessels
  • Mooring and releasing vessels
  • Any duties that may arise to contribute to the day-to-day running of the terminal

Your profile:

  • It is important that you have a good work ethic
  • Experience of driving large vehicles and operating heavy plant and machinery would be advantageous
  • It is essential you have a pro-active approach and knowledge of Health and Safety
  • You will have good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good IT skills are desirable for use of in-house/ on-board Freight Management Systems
  • You must be a self-motivated individual
  • Ability to prioritise workload whilst working to tight timescales in accordance with company policies
  • You must be able to work within a team
  • A flexible approach to work is necessary as you will be expected to cover when required
  • Must be willing to undertake any duties that may arise to contribute to the day-to-day running of the terminal
  • You must also be willing to work to a flexible timetable to meet the changing patterns of work, which could include working at other Ports within the UK and Europe
