CLdN is a leading provider of integrated quay-to-quay and door-to-door logistics solutions. Founded in 1929, CLdN ensures reliable, cost-effective transport that links the major economic areas of Europe. With 30 ships and more than 240 sailings a week, CLdN provides shortsea connections between the European continent, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Iberia and Scandinavia and offers the lowest CO2 footprint of all Western European RoRo operators.
CLdN’s cargo and multimodal services have a Europe-wide reach using CLdN’s extensive network of ships, terminals and equipment. CLdN’s 3,000 employees ensure that it fulfils its mission: to excel as an integrated provider of maritime links.
Your role as a member of the Shipping Operations team will involve managing the day-to-day operations of a multi-port RoRo fleet of about 30 vessels. You will plan, oversee and coordinate all vessel movements for the shipping lines assigned to you, and arrange bunkers in the most efficient and cost-effective way. You will also be encouraged to identify and drive process improvements and take ownership to bring your ideas to successful implementation.
Within this challenging role, your main responsibilities will be:
- Fleet planning & scheduling: Plan and oversee vessel movements for the shipping lines assigned to you in the most effective and profitable way. Monitor adherence to schedules and operational KPIs and adjust where needed. Report on deviations from the schedule and explain the commercial and financial impact.
- Bunker operations: Organise bunker operations for the vessels under your responsibility. Coordinate with the technical department on fuel quantity and quality. Ensure administrative follow-up (bunkers, invoices, certificates, etc.) and support operational cost control.
- Stakeholder coordination: Consult and communicate daily with Captains, terminals, commercial, technical and data teams to ensure smooth operations. Act as main contact for your services, balancing operational reliability and cost.
Depending on your expertise or analytical skills, you may contribute to:
- Fleet performance optimisation and continuous operational improvements.
- Strategic fleet deployment and chartering in/out decisions.
- Emission reporting, sustainability initiatives and (bio-)LNG bunkering.
- Business cases across all related fields.
Your profile: You hold minimum a Bachelor’s degree with relevant working experience such as but not limited to one of the following areas: shipping operations, transport/network planning, bunkering, RoRo, sailing experience (deck/engine) or fleet performance monitoring. You enjoy planning and organising, while keeping the broader operational and commercial picture in mind. You are comfortable handling unforeseen vessel or berth issues, updating schedules and informing relevant stakeholders as required. You are a strong problem solver with an out-of-the-box mindset. You show a high degree of flexibility and availability, including participation in an evening/weekend on-call rota. You are a multitasker who performs well under pressure. You are a committed team player, balanced with the autonomy and motivation to deliver individually. You have strong communication skills and an excellent command of English.
Our offer: CLdN offers a long-term position within a dynamic international maritime company, where you will take on a key operational role with real impact on fleet performance, cost efficiency and sustainability.
