CLdN Ports Liverpool wish to recruit an IT Support Technician to work at our busy and expanding Ro-Ro Terminal. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role and have a flexible, professional and pro-active approach to work.
The role
- This role will require working at height, using various power towels, working in potential harsh conditions, on-board vessels, work across multiple sites and share the provision of critical out of hours support as part of an on-call rota.
- To provide IT support to all users across our offices, ports and vessels at multiple locations.
- Provide daily operations and systems support to personnel, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted IT services.
- Assist employees with the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of system hardware and software components.
- Track, prioritise, and document IT support requests using the designated IT support ticketed request system.
- Verify the functionality of hardware and software components, identifying and addressing potential issues promptly.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in person, remotely, and via phone, delivering effective solutions to technical challenges.
- Participate in ongoing job training and coaching to stay up to date with evolving technologies and best practices.
- Adhere to Health and Safety regulations to promote a secure working environment for all employees.
- Foster and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, contributing to a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement, maintain, and improve IT infrastructure and systems.
- Maintain a helpdesk system, ensuring accurate tracking, prioritisation, and documentation of support requests.
- Escalate complex technical issues to tiered support teams, facilitating efficient resolution and communication.
- Providing network and server support onsite and remotely to all group locations. This includes assisting with IT training for network users.
- Deployment and maintenance of PCs, laptops, software and related equipment. Support of in-house telephony and network systems.
- Assist in documenting existing, new systems and projects including purchasing of site hardware and software.
- To carry out any other tasks within your skill and capability on an as and when required basis.
Your profile
- Ideally you will be qualified to minimum CompTIA A+
- Ideally you will hold an IPAF 3a/3b accreditation
- It is important that you have a good work ethic (i.e. conscientious and reliable).
- Experience of working in a similar role for a minimum of 2 years.
- You will have a high level of professionalism with the ability to prioritise workload whilst working to tight timescales in accordance with company policies
- Good communication skills are essential.
- High attention to detail with accuracy and the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines is crucial for this role
- Ability to work as part of a team or work alone as required with a flexible approach to work as you will be expected to cover when required
- You must be willing to work to a flexible timetable to meet the changing patterns of work and could also include working at other CLdN Ports across the UK and Europe
- Must hold a valid UK driving licence
