Your role

As a Port Operative Apprentice, you will support the team ensuring a safe and efficient operation is achieved for handling our customers’ cargo on & off our ships and around the port environment. As part of this role, you will be expected to study and pass a Level 2 Port Operations Apprenticeship, fully funded by the company.

Role Responsibilities

  • Using port equipment (e.g., terminal tractors/cranes/forklift trucks) for handling our customers’ cargo on & off our ships and around the port environment. Full training will be provided.
  • To follow health and safety procedures as laid out by the port.
  • Using our internal Freight Management system for locating cargo around the port.
  • To assist in the mooring and unmooring of our ships.
  • Warehouse operations.

Your profile

  • Pro-active approach to and awareness of H&S.
  • Team player, able to work on their own initiative.
  • Driving License desirable, but not essential.

As part of this role, you will be expected to study and pass the Port Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship.

Our offer

£17,729.00 starting salary, with regular performance-based increases. Life Assurance Cover.
