Job overview
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Contracts and Administration Officer to join the Contracts Team within Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust’s All Age Continuing Care, Complex Care Division on a short-term basis.
This is a busy and varied Band 6 role requiring someone who can quickly understand priorities, work independently within agreed parameters and produce accurate work to deadlines. You will support Contract Managers with the administration, issue and variation of NHS contracts and help maintain complete and reliable contract information.
You will work with colleagues across commissioning, finance, quality, safeguarding and operational services, as well as NHS-funded care providers and external partners. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys detailed work, takes ownership of tasks and wants to contribute to the effective management of services for people with complex care needs.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will support the Contracts Team across the full range of contract administration and monitoring activities.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and updating NHS contracts, variations, notices and supporting documents.
- Checking documentation for accuracy, completeness and compliance with approved requirements.
- Maintaining contract records in contract management system, clinical systems, registers and trackers.
- Liaising with providers to obtain missing information and follow up outstanding actions.
- Responding professionally to routine provider queries and escalating complex matters.
- Supporting contractual reporting, provider submissions, quality indicators and annual uplift exercises.
- Maintaining the Contracts Register and monitoring actions and deadlines.
- Managing shared mailboxes and preparing correspondence, reports, spreadsheets and meeting documentation.
- Coordinating meetings, recording clear minutes and following up agreed actions.
- Working independently, managing competing priorities and contributing to service improvements.
The successful candidate will bring relevant experience of NHS contracting, commissioning or a comparable public-sector environment. You will be highly organised, confident communicating with stakeholders and able to maintain accuracy when managing detailed or high-volume information. Experience of Atamis/Health Family or a similar contract management system is desirable

Education/Qualification
- Educated to degree level in a relevant subject, or equivalent qualification, or significant relevant practical experience.
- Knowledge of NHS commissioning, NHS Standard Contracts and the health and social care environment.
Experience
- Experience of administrative procedures, document control, information analysis and preparing professional documents.
- Experience of working in NHS contracting, commissioning or a similar public-sector environment.
- Experience of handling a high volume of work and meeting deadlines.
- Experience of contract management or contract development.
- Experience of proofreading complex or lengthy documents.
- Experience of provider or stakeholder liaison.
Skills and Knowledge
- Strong administrative and organisational skills with close attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, re-prioritise and work to deadlines.
- Ability to draft and update contracts, variations and supporting documents accurately.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office applications to analyse data and prepare professional documents. Clear written and verbal communication skills and confidence liaising with stakeholders.

- Familiarity with contract management systems, including Atamis/Health Family or a comparable web based based system.
