CLC, part of Axis CLC, is a national maintenance and refurbishment provider with over 1,000 employees and 13 UK offices. We support clients across the healthcare, defence, leisure, heritage, commercial and education sectors, delivering essential building services. We are now seeking an experienced Contracts Manager Retrofit, based from our Leeds office and covering an area across the wider region, to lead the successful delivery of energy-efficiency and decarbonisation programmes across our client portfolio.

You will be accountable for operational performance, contract compliance, financial delivery and client satisfaction, ensuring all retrofit works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. This is a key leadership role in a growing area of the business, ideal for someone with a strong background in retrofit, planned works or energy-efficiency programmes, and proven experience managing multi-trade teams.

WHAT YOU'LL DELIVER

  • Lead delivery of retrofit and energy-efficiency programmes across occupied homes
  • Act as a senior point of contact for clients, surveyors and resident stakeholders
  • Manage supervisors, operatives and subcontractors to meet programmes, KPIs and client expectations
  • Oversee planning, resourcing and sequencing to ensure efficient delivery with minimal resident disruption
  • Ensure works comply with building regulations, PAS 2030/2035 and other retrofit standards
  • Promote and reinforce a strong health & safety culture across all sites
  • Review and approve RAMS, documentation and completion evidence
  • Conduct quality checks and ensure corrective actions are completed promptly
  • Manage budgets, forecasting, variations and commercial performance
  • Ensure accurate capture of SOR information and job progress data
  • Support valuations, pricing, scopes and commercial submissions
  • Identify efficiency opportunities to protect margin and improve delivery
  • Resolve escalated issues quickly to maintain a positive resident experience
  • Support performance management, coaching and upskilling

ABOUT YOU

A Contracts Manager Retrofit requires:

  • Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within retrofit, planned works, energy-efficiency or R&M environments
  • Strong leadership experience managing supervisors, operatives and subcontractors
  • Experience delivering PAS 2030/2035-aligned retrofit works (or similar compliance-driven programmes)
  • Retrofit Coordinator RC qualified, experience knowledge preferred
  • Excellent understanding of building maintenance, quality standards and health & safety requirements
  • Demonstrable track record of delivering contracts to programme, budget and KPI targets
  • Experience working directly with clients and resident groups
  • Strong commercial awareness and confidence managing budgets and financial performance
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
  • Ability to manage high-volume, multi-site programmes
  • Strong problem-solving ability and a proactive, solutions-led approach
  • IT literate and confident using contract management systems
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • Formal construction qualification (HNC, NVQ, CIOB, or equivalent)
  • SMSTS, IOSH or similar safety qualifications
