We support clients across the healthcare, defence, leisure, heritage, commercial and education sectors, delivering essential building services. Our Transmission Services division plays a key role in supporting the UK’s energy infrastructure, specialising in the maintenance and painting of high-voltage pylons and associated assets.
We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to lead the day-to-day delivery of transmission contracts and frameworks, acting as the key client interface while managing operational teams, suppliers and subcontractors. You will take a hands-on approach to planning, resourcing and safe delivery, ensuring works are completed on time, to specification and within budget. Experience delivering planned works within the overhead line tower painting sector is essential.
What you’ll deliver:
- Lead day-to-day client relationships across live transmission contracts and frameworks
- Manage and support field-based managers, operatives and supply chain partners
- Plan, resource and deploy teams to maximise productivity and outage availability
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance
- Prepare and approve RAMS, programmes and key project documentation
- Monitor delivery through site visits, ensuring works meet programme and specification
- Manage contract performance, including budgets, reporting and variations
- Support divisional leadership with technical input, performance insight and growth opportunities
About You:
To be a successful Contracts Manager within our Transmission Services division, you will require:
- Demonstrable experience in a contracts or project management role, or readiness to progress into a senior contracts position
- Strong experience delivering planned works within the overhead line tower painting sector or similar specialist environments
- Excellent people management and leadership skills
- Strong client relationship management and communication skills
- Sound operational and commercial awareness across contract delivery
- Good IT capability, including Microsoft Office packages
- Strong understanding of health and safety requirements, with SMSTS, IOSH Managing Safety or NEBOSH (or working towards)
- A proactive, organised and resilient approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
