The Trainee Data Analyst will support the Data & Performance team in collecting, analysing, and maintaining data for the Smart Metering Programme across the region. This role is designed for someone early in their data career, offering structured learning and hands-on experience with operational, commercial, and compliance data.
Working closely with operational teams, compliance, planning, and commercial, the Trainee Data Analyst will help ensure accurate reporting, support performance tracking, improve data quality, and contribute to key insights that drive programme delivery.
- Data Management & Quality
- Assist in collecting and validating data from field teams, subcontractors, and internal systems.
- Maintain accurate records relating to meter installations, replacements, aborts, and exceptions.
- Support reconciliation of operational data to ensure alignment with planning, commercial reporting, and client requirements.
- Identify data inconsistencies and work with relevant teams to resolve issues promptly.
- Reporting & Performance Tracking
- Support the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly KPI reports.
- Assist in building dashboards and visuals using Excel and/or Power BI.
- Monitor programme trends such as productivity, success rates, compliance, and turnaround times.
- Help prepare information for internal reviews, client meetings, and commercial submissions.
- Systems & Digital Tools
- Work with internal systems, apps, and databases used across the Smart Metering Programme.
- Develop skills in data extraction.
- Assist with process improvements and automation of routine reporting tasks where possible.
- Compliance & Operational Support
- Collaborate with Compliance teams to ensure all job records, photos, and evidence are captured and auditable.
- Support in analysing failed jobs, exceptions, and non-compliance trends.
- Work with operational teams to ensure accurate data is captured at source.
- Stakeholder & Team Collaboration
- Engage with Delivery Managers, Supervisors, Planners, and Subcontractors regarding data accuracy.
- Support internal teams with ad hoc data requests or analysis tasks.
- Contribute to team meetings, sharing findings or insights when required.
