Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and kitchen management, with the ability to lead and inspire a team. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation while ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently.
Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and managing kitchen staff.
- Supervise food preparation and cooking processes to ensure quality and consistency.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing recipes.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen at all times.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in cooking techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen procedures.
- Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
- Assist in menu planning and portion control to optimise food production efficiency.
- Provide exceptional service during meal periods, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standard.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Strong supervisory skills with experience in team management.
- Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary practices.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent leadership abilities with a passion for mentoring others in the kitchen.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and front-of-house staff.

Pay: £33,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
