Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and kitchen management, with the ability to lead and inspire a team. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation while ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently.

Duties

  • Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and managing kitchen staff.
  • Supervise food preparation and cooking processes to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing recipes.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen at all times.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in cooking techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen procedures.
  • Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
  • Assist in menu planning and portion control to optimise food production efficiency.
  • Provide exceptional service during meal periods, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standard.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality environment.
  • Strong supervisory skills with experience in team management.
  • Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary practices.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership abilities with a passion for mentoring others in the kitchen.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and front-of-house staff.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £33,000.00-£38,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 25 – 50 per week
