Job Description:
A highly regarded regional law firm with a strong presence across the West Midlands is seeking an experienced Senior Associate to join its growing Tax and Succession Planning team. This is a strategic role within a newly formed division led by prominent partners and backed by excellent internal resources and client flow.
The Opportunity:
This is a key role within an ambitious team that advises high-net-worth individuals, landowners, and business owners on inheritance tax planning, complex estates, and succession matters. The successful candidate will provide technically robust tax advice while helping to shape the future of the division.
You will work closely with colleagues across private client, corporate, property, and litigation departments, delivering holistic, integrated solutions. This is also an excellent opportunity to be involved in business development initiatives, contribute to thought leadership, and further develop a profile in this growing specialism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advising clients on complex estate planning, inheritance tax, capital gains, and corporate tax matters
- Managing a broad range of high-value tax and trust issues for private clients, including those with significant land, business, or asset portfolios
- Collaborating with internal specialists to deliver cohesive advice across legal disciplines
- Supervising and mentoring junior team members
- Contributing to client growth strategies through networking, seminars, and articles
Candidate Profile:
- 5+ years’ post-qualification experience in legal or accountancy practice, with strong private client tax exposure
- Experience working with HNW individuals and complex tax matters
- STEP and/or CTA qualification preferred
- Strong interpersonal and client relationship skills
- Commercially minded with a collaborative and forward-thinking approach
