The firm is looking for an experienced Legal Secretary to join its Clinical Negligence team , working either 3 or 4 days per week . Clinical Negligence experience would be ideal, but it is not essential - candidates with strong Legal Secretarial experience gained within another area of law will also be considered.

This is a varied role where you will play an important part in supporting Lawyers and ensuring the smooth running of the department. Your responsibilities will include:
- Audio and copy typing, digital dictation and document formatting
- Managing electronic and hard-copy filing
- Liaising directly with clients and welcoming new clients to the firm
- Drafting court forms and preparing legal documentation
- Preparing documents for disclosure and despatch
- Managing diaries, appointments and meetings
- Arranging conferences with experts and Counsel
- Assisting with the preparation of digital and hard-copy Court Bundles
- Downloading and uploading electronic medical records and radiology
- Providing high-quality day-to-day support to Lawyers
You will ideally have previous Legal Secretarial experience within a law firm , together with excellent organisational skills and a professional, confident approach.
Clinical Negligence experience would be a real advantage, but candidates from other legal disciplines are very much encouraged to apply.
You should have:
- Strong typing speed and accuracy
- Excellent document and word-processing skills
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- A good understanding of legal terminology
- Confidence using online platforms and digital systems
- Experience with Court Forms and preparing legal documents
- The ability to work independently while also being a strong team player
- A proactive, reliable and client-focused approach
