A leading criminal defence practice is seeking to appoint a Mid-Level Criminal Solicitor (approximately 3-6 years PQE) to join its established and expanding team in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for a capable and motivated solicitor to develop their career within a highly regarded practice recognised for its expertise in serious and complex criminal litigation, including serious crime, fraud, and regulatory investigations.
The successful candidate will handle a varied and demanding caseload, providing advice and representation at all stages of criminal proceedings. Responsibilities will include:
- Police station attendance
- Magistrates Court advocacy
- Crown Court case preparation
- Instructing counsel in complex matters
The role requires a proactive and organised approach to case management, strong analytical skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality client care in fast-paced and often high-pressure environments. Applicants must be qualified Solicitors in England and Wales with solid experience in criminal defence work. Police station accreditation is essential, and prior Magistrates Court advocacy experience is strongly preferred. Experience in Crown Court matters and complex criminal cases will be viewed favourably.
