Role Overview
The successful candidate will manage a broad range of Private Client matters, working independently while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards. The role is fast-paced and offers the chance to work within one of the UK’s top firms.
Key responsibilities include:
- Handling Private Client cases involving wills, trusts, lasting powers of attorney, probate (including contentious probate), inheritance tax, and estate planning
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client files in line with company policies
- Managing financial aspects of cases, including billing and cash flow
- Identifying and developing fee-earning opportunities
- Ensuring compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules, the Code of Conduct, and Money Laundering Regulations
- Supervising junior fee earners and supporting their professional development
- Meeting job-related training and development targets
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Solicitor qualification with 4+ years PQE in Private Client law
- A STEP qualification is highly desirable
- Comprehensive experience across all areas of Private Client law, including wills, trusts, LPAs, probate (contentious and non-contentious), inheritance tax, and estate planning
- Ability to manage cases accurately and independently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- An existing professional network and a proactive approach to business development
- A self-motivated, clear-thinking approach with the ability to build strong client relationships
