Are you an experienced Compliance professional looking to take ownership of a key function within a respected and expanding law firm? We are seeking a Compliance Manager to join a multi-site legal practice based in West Yorkshire, supporting the firm in achieving the highest standards of regulatory compliance, risk management and quality assurance.
About the Role
As Compliance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and maintaining the firm’s regulatory obligations, ensuring all processes and practices align with SRA regulations, legislation and best practice. This is a visible, hands-on role where you will work closely with Partners, Department Heads and staff across several offices to deliver consistent compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the firm’s regulatory compliance framework, policies and procedures
- Ensure full adherence to SRA regulations, GDPR and relevant legislation
- Conduct regular audits, compliance reviews and risk assessments across all sites
- Provide guidance, coaching and training to staff on compliance matters
- Investigate breaches, complaints or issues and implement corrective actions
- Monitor and manage file reviews, conflicts of interest, AML and onboarding processes
- Produce reports for the Partners and Lead stakeholders
- Drive continuous improvement in compliance systems and the firm’s risk culture
About You
- Previous compliance experience within a law firm or regulated professional services environment
- Strong understanding of SRA regulations, legal risk and professional standards
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Highly organised, detail-focused and proactive in approach
- Able to travel between multiple Yorkshire offices as required
