The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a respected regional law firm as a Private Client Solicitor, working with a diverse and high-net-worth client base. This role offers the chance to develop your expertise in estate planning, trusts, probate, and inheritance tax, while playing an integral part in the firm’s Private Client department.
As you grow with the firm, you will have a clear pathway to progress into a senior leadership role as Head of the Private Client Department, leading a team and helping shape the department’s strategic direction and growth.

Key Responsibilities
As a Private Client Solicitor:

  • Provide expert advice on Wills, estate planning, trust administration, probate, inheritance tax, and related matters
  • Manage your own caseload of private client matters, including complex estates and Court of Protection cases
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with clients and referrers
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff to deliver excellent client service
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and compliance requirements
  • Assist with business development and client retention initiatives

Progression to Head of Department:

  • Take on increasing responsibility for managing and mentoring junior team members
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the department’s business plan and financial targets
  • Lead on client relationship management and strategic growth initiatives
  • Oversee departmental compliance, performance, and operational matters
  • Represent the department and firm at networking and industry events
  • Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with 3+ years PQE in Private Client law
  • Strong technical knowledge in estate planning, trusts, probate, and tax matters
  • Excellent communication and client management skills
  • Commercially aware with a desire to develop leadership capabilities
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • STEP qualification or working towards it
  • Experience in managing junior colleagues or involvement in team projects
  • Knowledge of practice management software such as Practice Evolve
