Senior Commercial Electrician

The Role
As our Senior Commercial Electrician, you\'ll be the site\'s designated expert for electrical safety and compliance, taking full ownership of every aspect of electrical work. You\'ll set the benchmark for excellence — ensuring all installations meet BS 7671 standards, overseeing inspections, approving remedial actions, and managing contractors to deliver safe, high-quality results. Your leadership will drive efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement across the site.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you\'ll:
- Own electrical safety and compliance under Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and BS 7671.
- Deliver and verify remedial works from Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs).
- Design and install new circuits and systems, including three-phase supplies, control panels, and motor installations.
- Upgrade and maintain existing infrastructure to improve reliability and performance.
- Supervise contractors, review RAMS, and enforce safe working practices.
- Diagnose faults and implement long-term solutions, using technical drawings and your expertise.
- Apply knowledge of PUWER, LOTO, and factory maintenance standards to keep operations safe and efficient.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
Qualifications
- Electrical Apprenticeship – Completed a time-served apprenticeship (City & Guilds or equivalent).
- NVQ Level 3 – Electrical Installation or Maintenance.
- 18th Edition – BS 7671:2018 (Amendment 2) – current wiring regulations.
- Inspection & Testing – City & Guilds qualification.
Certifications
- ECS / JIB Gold Card – Approved or Technician grade.
- Driving Licence – Full UK licence.
Experience
- 7–10 years in commercial or industrial electrical environments.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality work.
