As our Manufacturing Training & Continuous Improvement Coordinator, you will play a key role in building capability, reducing waste, improving quality, and embedding Lean thinking across our Bellshill site. You will work hands-on with operators, shift leaders, and the Manufacturing Performance Improvement Lead to develop training that sticks—training that results in fewer remakes, faster flow, safer working practices, and more consistent performance. You’ll use Lean tools, walkthroughs, coaching, visual standards, and data to help teams understand why changes are needed and how they impact results. Key Responsibilities – Training & Development

  • Deliver engaging and practical training for new starters and existing operators.
  • Coach teams on standard work, correct handling, and visual controls.
  • Create, update, and improve SOPs, work instructions, and visual standards.
  • Maintain training matrices, skill audits, and competency assessments across all shifts.
  • Help build a culture where learning is continuous and everyone contributes to improvement.
  • Lead Kaizen activities and small-group improvement sessions with operators.
  • Drive 5S standards through blitzes, audits, coaching, and daily reinforcement.
  • Apply Lean tools such as 5 Why, Ishikawa, PDCA, and A3 thinking to tackle recurring problems.
  • Use spaghetti diagrams, waste walks, and Gemba observations to identify opportunities.
  • Support improvements in OEE, flow, layout efficiency, and waste/remake reduction.
  • Help teams understand data, trends, and how their actions impact results.

Key Responsibilities – Safety & Culture

  • Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings, and behavioural safety coaching.
  • Conduct Gemba safety walks and encourage safer working through real-time feedback.
  • Support risk assessments, near miss reviews, and corrective action implementation.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and improvement-focused site culture.

Candidate Profile

  • 3+ years’ experience in manufacturing, production, or engineering.
  • Strong administrative capability with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring SOPs, records, and training documents are accurate, compliant, and up to date.
  • Confident delivering training and coaching at shopfloor level.
  • Experience using Lean tools to identify and solve problems.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to simplify and explain concepts clearly.
  • Hands-on, approachable, and comfortable being on the shop floor daily.
  • Enjoys analysing data, spotting trends, and linking improvements to measurable results.
  • IOSH qualification (or willingness to work towards it).
  • Experience working with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • Train-the-Trainer qualification or equivalent coaching/training experience.

Additional Information:

  • Working Hours / Shift Pattern: 42 hours per week with rotating shifts. The role is primarily office hours (8:00am – 4:00pm).
