Overview: As a Shift Supervisor at Clayton Glass, you’ll be instrumental in overseeing and coordinating production operations, ensuring top-quality batches are delivered on time and to specification. This role combines hands-on leadership with problem-solving expertise, making it ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will drive team performance, uphold safety standards, and foster collaboration across departments, contributing to our legacy of innovation and excellence.
Key Responsibilities:- Production Oversight: Supervise daily production activities, ensuring batches are cut, arrissed, and toughened in sequence to meet deadlines.
- Quality Control: Drive the quality improvement agenda and ensure all products consistently meet Clayton Glass’s high standards.
- Health & Safety: Maintain adherence to safety protocols, ensuring appropriate PPE is used and standards are upheld.
- Team Leadership: Lead and motivate team members, providing necessary development opportunities and ensuring accountability for performance goals.
- Problem Solving: Resolve production issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
- Continuous Improvement: Promote innovation and efficiency by implementing process improvement tools to reduce waste and enhance productivity.
- Communication: Ensure clear and effective communication of priorities and instructions to the team and management.
- 2–3 years’ proven experience supervising and motivating teams in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with production processes and supply chain operations.
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks, meet tight deadlines, and maintain efficient workflows.
- Comprehensive understanding of maintaining a safe work environment and ensuring compliance.
- Competent in using IT systems for production management and reporting.
- Ability to effectively communicate with staff and management.
- Experience addressing operational challenges to minimize downtime.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, key performance indicators (KPIs), and quality improvement tools.
