About the Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will deliver high-quality education in accordance with Company policies, procedures, and the standards set by the Regulatory Body. You will plan and teach lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils, monitor progress, and contribute to a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Task Areas and Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality education to individual students or small groups in line with the School’s Curriculum framework, Company policies, and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor, record, and report on student progress regularly.
  • Support and contribute to the implementation of the School Development Plan.
  • Promote the physical, educational, and moral development of students, consistent with Company policies.
  • Develop and implement personalized learning environments and programs to ensure student progression at an appropriate pace.
  • Coordinate the teaching, assessment, recording, and reporting of subjects and learning areas across key stages, as directed by the Headteacher.
  • Devise, implement, and review individual education plans (IEPs), behaviour plans, and other relevant plans collaboratively with staff.
  • Organize the classroom environment, resources, student groupings, and displays to create a stimulating and supportive learning atmosphere.

Qualifications and Experience

  • UK QTS or equivalent
  • Experience with SEN children (desirable)

Claystone School is a small, independent school supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), who may also have a range of additional needs. Located in Pepperstock, Luton, the school caters for up to 48 pupils aged 4–11, providing a safe, engaging and inclusive environment where children with ASC and complex needs can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

For over 19 years Options Autism have provided care and education to pupils, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties.
