We is looking for an experienced Solar PV & Battery Technical Supervisor / Senior Renewable Electrician to support the launch and growth of our residential renewable-energy installation business.
We are initially focusing on solar PV and battery storage , with EV charging and other low-carbon technologies planned as the business develops.
This is a part-time / contract opportunity suited to an experienced renewable electrician who wants to play a key role in helping establish the technical standards, systems and installation processes of a growing company.
The role
The successful person would act as Claystone’s Technical Supervisor for Solar PV and EESS , supporting the business through surveys, system design, installation, testing, commissioning and MCS compliance.
Responsibilities would include:
• Supporting and reviewing technical property surveys
• Reviewing and approving solar PV and battery system designs
• Assessing consumer units, earthing, cable routes and electrical suitability
• Reviewing inverter, battery and protection requirements
• Supporting DNO / G98 / G99 / G100 requirements
• Establishing installation and quality-control procedures
• Supervising renewable electricians and PV installation teams
• Reviewing inspection, testing and commissioning results
• Supporting MCS documentation and technical sign-off
• Assisting with NICEIC/MCS assessments and ongoing compliance
• Helping develop Claystone’s standard survey, design and installation processes
What we are looking for
Ideally, you will have:
• Strong domestic electrical installation experience
• Current 18th Edition qualification
• Recognised Level 3 Solar PV qualification
• Recognised Level 3 EESS / battery storage qualification
• Inspection and testing competence
• Practical experience installing and commissioning solar PV systems
• Practical experience with hybrid inverters and domestic battery systems
• Good understanding of MCS requirements
• Knowledge of G98 / G99 / G100 and DNO processes
• Experience working with systems such as Solis, Sunsynk, Fox ESS, GivEnergy, Sigenergy or similar
• High standards of workmanship and documentation
Previous experience acting as an MCS Technical Supervisor, Qualified Supervisor or Technical Manager would be highly desirable.
Structure
Initially this would be a flexible part-time / contract position , likely around 1–2 days per week or installation-dependent , rather than requiring someone to leave their existing employment.
We are open to discussing:
• Day-rate arrangements
• Monthly retainers
• Per-install technical review arrangements
• A combination of the above
There is also the opportunity for the role to develop into a permanent Technical Manager / Lead Renewable Electrician position as installation volume grows.
Location
Claystone will initially be operating across Hampshire and surrounding areas , so we are particularly interested in people based within reasonable travelling distance of the South Coast / South East.
