Summary Of Position

As a Senior Sales Manager at Clays, you’ll combine sales excellence and exceptional hospitality. You’ll be a key player in the team to deliver our sales goals. You’ll thrive in both proactive and reactive sales environments, spotting opportunities before they land, responding quickly to inbound enquiries, and always bringing value with energy and insight. You’ll bring enthusiasm, confidence, and a can‑do attitude to everything you do—building genuine relationships, understanding your clients’ world inside out, and taking initiative without needing to be asked. You’ll lead from the front, handling client calls, quoting with confidence, and ensuring we’re offering smart, tailored solutions to create amazing experiences. You’ll mentor junior team members and collaborate with other departments.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Consistently deliver and exceed personal sales targets, owning both pipeline creation and conversion through a disciplined, repeatable sales process.
  • Lead by example in sales execution, demonstrating best‑in‑class standards across response times, follow‑ups, closing and overall conversion.
  • Drive high‑value commercial outcomes, confidently influencing client decisions, maximising revenue per booking and balancing pricing to drive both value and volume.
  • Operate with pace and efficiency, managing a high volume of enquiries while maintaining quality, prioritisation and momentum across all opportunities.
  • Set the standard for sales behaviours, acting as a role model within the team, mentoring others and sharing best practice to elevate overall performance.
  • Own and grow agency relationships, building a strong, high‑performing agency network that drives consistent lead volume and conversion.
  • Identify and onboard new agency partners, expanding reach and unlocking new revenue channels.
  • Nurture and develop existing relationships, increasing both the quality and quantity of opportunities generated.
  • Actively manage agency performance, ensuring strong engagement, clear communication and a focus on conversion and revenue delivery.
  • Act as a key external face of Clays, representing the brand at industry and networking events to build awareness and generate new opportunities.
  • Proactively create demand through targeted outreach, partnerships and network development, ensuring a strong and sustainable pipeline.
  • Deliver tailored, thoughtful responses to enquiries, ensuring every interaction reflects Clays’ brand, energy and attention to detail.
  • Accurately capture guest data and preferences to personalise the experience and enhance the guest journey.
  • Anticipate guest needs and proactively enhance bookings, creating memorable, standout experiences.
  • Take ownership of the guest experience end‑to‑end, ensuring a seamless, high‑quality journey from enquiry through to arrival.
  • Continuously refine approach based on guest behaviour, trends and insights to improve both experience and commercial outcomes.

Skills, Desired Qualifications & Attributes

  • Proven track record delivering in a similar position for 4+ years.
  • Knowledge of CRM tools, particularly Salesforce.
  • Confident managing both proactive outreach and reactive inbound enquiries.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in hospitality, events, or reservations.
  • Proven ability to close sales and consistently hit revenue targets.
  • Ability to anticipate client needs and pitch creative, tailored solutions.
  • Comfortable identifying new business opportunities with existing clients and third‑party partners.
  • Strong relationship‑building skills with clients and colleagues.
  • Highly self‑motivated with a proactive mindset—gets things done without being asked.
  • Skilled at balancing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Team player who brings positive energy to the group.
