Summary of Position
As a Kitchen Porter, you will support all kitchen areas to maintain service standards and cleanliness. You will follow instructions, perform tasks efficiently, and develop within the role through Clayers Academy.
Duties & Responsibilities
- General cleaning of the kitchen, including sweeping and mopping floors.
- Removing kitchen waste and disposing of it properly.
- Completing the weekly cleaning schedule.
- Washing dishes such as cutlery, pots, cutting boards, and pans by hand.
- Loading and unloading the dishwasher.
- Cleaning cooking equipment, including cookers and food mixers.
- Supporting chefs with basic food preparation, such as washing, peeling, and cutting ingredients.
- Providing assistance to kitchen staff as needed.
Skills and Desired Qualifications
- Excellent time management.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Level 1 Food Safety Award (training provided).
- Awareness of manual handling techniques (training provided).
- Awareness of COSHH and chemical safety (training provided).
- Strong initiative and problem‑solving skills.
