Summary of position & key attributes
The Commis Chef is responsible for preparing consistent, high‑quality food products for our guests.
You will also assist the CDP and Sous Chef in cooking and ensuring that all stations are clean.
Your role will involve providing courteous, professional, efficient and flexible service to guests and colleagues, delivering Clays operational standards.
We are looking for a self‑driven individual with hospitality experience, who works flexibly to meet business needs, including weekends and late nights.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist Senior Kitchen colleagues in their daily duties.
- Assist in preparing and cooking elements of high‑quality dishes under the guidance of a Chef De Partie.
- Check and receive deliveries in accordance with company and legal requirements.
- Learn and retain kitchen knowledge in a fast‑paced environment.
- Continually develop culinary knowledge to produce high‑quality dishes.
Skills and Desired Qualifications
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Hotel Management Graduate or Culinary Degree, or a minimum of three years of culinary certification.
- Passion for hospitality and creating amazing experiences.
- Attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build lasting relationships with colleagues and clients; honest, principled, proactive, calm, and able to solve problems under pressure.
