Clay Cross Medical Centre is looking for enthusiastic and dynamic GPs to join our forward-thinking, responsive and friendly team. We are looking for 4-6 clinical sessions. In return, we can offer a competitive salary (negotiable) and you will benefit from 30 days of annual leave and 1 week study leave.
Clay Cross Medical Centre is a friendly, enthusiastic and supportive practice caring for around 6800 patients over a 2 site modern purpose-built health centre located in Clay Cross, Derbyshire. We are located on the edge of some beautiful Derbyshire scenery and villages, but also within easy reach of Chesterfield, Derby, Sheffield and Nottingham. Main duties of the jobOur new team member will deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all our patients. In accordance with the practice timetable, and as agreed, you will undertake a variety of duties, including face-to-face consultations, telephone consultations, visiting housebound patients, prescription work, pathology, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion. Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation. Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems and screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness. Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols.
About usWe are a well-organised stable team and currently boast a GP Principal, 2 ANPs, Practice Nurses and Health Care assistants. The management of the business is led by the Practice Manager with excellent practice administration support and 12 part-time receptionists/admin staff. We have excellent working relationships with the wider healthcare community, including the local District Nursing team, PCN practices, Medicines Management Team, Acute Home Visiting Service, Palliative Care Services, local care homes etc. We are lucky to have the support of an excellent Community Matron. Applications welcome from both new and experienced GPs.
Job responsibilitiesThis post holder will work as one of a team of GPs, ANPs and Nurses delivering general practice services to registered and non-registered patients. At all times the post holder must act in a manner consistent with the code of conduct and appearance representing Clay Cross Medical Centre and the NHS.
Person Specification- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team;
- Ability to work with limited supervision;
- Understanding of the pressures faced by GPs and healthcare teams;
- Willingness to contribute to and participate in a peer support group;
- Current registration with the GMC & appropriate representation with recognised medical defence organisation;
- DBS check (undertaken before the date of appointment);
- Strong levels of IT proficiency and familiarity with primary care clinical systems (the Practice uses SystmOne), experience in using the Microsoft suite of programmes;
- Proven ability to handle a busy and varied primary care case load;
- Good understanding of GMS/PMS contracting requirements and the operation of the Quality Outcomes Framework process and Enhanced Services;
- Proven ability to offer support within a clinical team and share learning points in Practice meetings;
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
