Clay & Co. Facilities Group is looking for a reliable, hands-on Area Cleaning Supervisor to support our growing cleaning team across multiple sites. This is a practical, field-based role acting as the link between our site teams and our contract managers/directors. You will help ensure our cleaning services run smoothly, our staff feel supported, and our high standards are maintained across all sites. Most of our work takes place in the afternoons and evenings, particularly within school environments, so this role provides important on-the-ground support when our teams are working on site.

What the role involves:

  • Covering cleaning shifts when staff are absent (usually at one site per shift).
  • Supporting and shadowing new starters while they settle into their roles.
  • Helping set up new cleaning sites until permanent staff are in place.
  • Visiting sites to carry out spot checks and staff check-ins.
  • Checking stock levels and delivering supplies or equipment.
  • Providing occasional toolbox talks or practical guidance to staff.
  • Acting as the first point of on-site support if issues arise during evening shifts.
  • Feeding back updates or concerns to contract managers/directors.

Travel & working pattern:

  • Approx. 25 hours per week, typically between 3pm and 8pm in line with school cleaning hours.
  • This is a mobile role covering sites within roughly a 30–40 minute radius, including Bath and Devizes.
  • Travel between sites is planned in advance and included within working hours.
  • You will normally finish your shift at the site you are working at and travel home from there.
  • Company van provided for work use and taken home daily.
  • Company phone provided for communication and reporting.
  • Occasional visits to the office may be required to collect keys or equipment.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience in a cleaning supervisor or team leader role.
  • Is organised, reliable, and confident working independently.
  • Is approachable and supportive with staff.
  • Holds a full UK driving licence.
  • Takes pride in maintaining high standards.
  • Is willing to complete First Aid training as part of the role (paid for by the company).
  • Is willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check due to working within school environments.

What we offer:

  • A supportive, growing company where your role genuinely makes a difference.
  • Varied work — no two days the same.
  • Company van and phone provided.
  • Training and development opportunities.
  • Potential for increased responsibility and hours as the company grows.
