We are looking to hire an Onshore Service Technician on a full time, permanent basis.

Based at our facility in Westhill, Aberdeen the role holder is responsible for the assembly, test, operation and maintenance of Claxton and third-party equipment in company workshops or third-party facilities as required to support Claxton's operations business.

Role holder is also responsible for assisting with day-to-day Onshore Operations tasks associated with the Workshop, Maintenance, Project Mobilisations and Demobilisations.

Duties & Main Responsibilities

• Maintain, assemble, test, and operate the below Claxton equipment

  • Diesel and electric high pressure and ultra-high pressure water jetting pumps
  • Diesel and electric hydraulic power units
  • Various hydraulically driven topside and subsea cutting equipment
  • Subsea dredging equipment
  • Hydraulic umbilicals
  • Air driven spoolers
  • Any other Claxton equipment
  • When working on company premises to report to and take direction from the Workshop Manager and Operations Supervisor.
  • When working at third party facilities to take direction from the Workshop Manager and Lead Technician.
  • To actively participate in pre and post job briefings and to ensure that appropriate knowledge transfer takes place to allow successful operation and knowledge capture of lessons learned and opportunities for improvement.
  • To ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Claxton policies and guidelines.
  • To be responsible for own safety and the safety of others within the workplace by working in a safe, tidy, and efficient manner.
  • To compile & complete maintenance work packs, update certification records, and other documentation and to maintain appropriate communications as required with appointed supervisor or manager.
  • Carry out project mobilisations and demobilisations onsite as required.
  • Actively participate in Lean and 5S workshop related activities to continually improve the working environment, processes, and procedures.

Interact with staff and contribute new ideas and solutions as part of a continuous improvement process.

  • To carry out various other general duties as required and to always represent the company in a professional manner.
  • Required
  • Time served in a mechanical, hydraulic role.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic circuits.
  • Good knowledge of subsea services industry equipment.
  • Previous experience in a service, rental workshop environment.
  • Candidates with diesel, hydraulic, UHP or HP water pumping experience.
  • Plant machinery experience.
  • Ability to read Hydraulic schematics and GA drawings.
  • Good knowledge of mechanically operated tools or diesel engines.
  • Understanding of hydraulic/pneumatic control systems and the control components within these systems.
  • Strong focus on client satisfaction.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
  • A friendly and co-operative nature together with a can do attitude.
  • Attention to detail and lead by example.
  • Be practically minded and process driven.
  • Hold a driving license.
  • Be of a health standard that will enable fulfilment of the role.
