We are sourcing a Global Resources Systems Specialist on a full time, permanent basis.
Based at our facility in Aberdeen or Great Yarmouth, the Global Resources Systems Specialist plays a key role in supporting Claxton's global operations by ensuring the effective management, governance, and continuous improvement of ERP systems, asset processes, and performance data.
Operating within the Global Resources function, the role supports all global sites to ensure that asset movements, system transactions, and operational activities are accurately reflected within Microsoft Navision and associated platforms.
The role is responsible for maintaining high standards of data integrity, process compliance, and system usage across the business, while supporting ERP implementation, optimisation, and user adoption.
This includes acting as a system focal point for asset lifecycle management, troubleshooting system issues, and driving best practice across sites.
A key aspect of the role is contributing to the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of global processes and systems, ensuring alignment between operational activities and ERP requirements.
The position also supports business growth and operational efficiency through the development of reporting, analysis of performance data, and identification of improvement opportunities.
Working closely with the Global Resources Manager and cross-functional stakeholders, the role contributes to CAPEX delivery, asset utilisation strategy, and broader business strategy.
Strong collaboration with site leadership and functional teams is essential to ensure consistent application of processes and to enable effective decision-making across the organisation.
Duties & Main Responsibilities
- ERP System Support & Governance
- Support the delivery of ERP-related projects, including system implementation, upgrades, and hypercare phases.
- Ensure system configuration aligns with business requirements and complies with ERP processes, company policies, and procedures.
- Act as a key point of contact for ERP system queries, supporting users across the business.
- Escalate complex technical issues to appropriate IT or system support teams and coordinate resolution.
- Support audits to ensure all routine ERP system activities (weekly, monthly, and periodic processes) are completed accurately and on time.
- Asset Management & System Control
- Manage and support ERP processes relating to asset lifecycle activities, including creation, modification, transfer, and disposal.
- Ensure adherence to standardised asset management procedures and maintain high-quality data within ERP systems.
- Support and monitor intercompany asset transfers to ensure compliance and efficiency across global sites.
- Contribute to the ongoing implementation and optimisation of ERP modules (e. g. NAV / Armada rental system).
- Operates at a "superuser" level, promoting best practice across sites and functions.
- Reporting, Analytics & Data Management
- Support and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to provide clear visibility of ERP data and business KPIs.
- Provide data management and support, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and integrity of system data.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities based on system data and report insights to ERP/System Team Leads.
- Project & CAPEX Responsibilities
- Provide ERP and asset-related input into project planning, execution, and close-out activities.
- Execute system testing activities including System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system updates and developments.
- Deliver user training and provide frontline support, including troubleshooting and guidance on best practice.
- Produce and maintain system documentation such as procedures, process flows, and user guides.
- Continuously identify and implement opportunities to improve system processes, usability, and efficiency.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Build effective working relationships across departments and with senior leadership teams.
- Lead, facilitate, and document meetings with cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring clear actions and outcomes.
- Actively contribute to strategic discussions regarding asset management, product line optimisation, and business growth.
- Compliance & QHSE
- Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, and ERP governance standards.
- Fully comply with QHSE management system requirements and behaviours aligned with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
- Support audit activities and ensure system and process compliance is maintained.
- General Responsibilities
- Support any new business start-ups and entity integrations to ensure ERP readiness and alignment with business requirements.
- Provide regular updates on risks, issues, and system performance to leadership teams.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties commensurate with the role to support business operations.
- Required
- HNC / HND / Degree in Engineering, Business, Data Analytics, Supply Chain, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Relevant certifications in ERP systems, data analytics, or project management (desirable).
- Experience working with ERP systems in an operational, asset management, or data-focused role.
- Experience in asset, inventory, maintenance, or equipment management within an engineering or operational environment.
- Demonstrated experience supporting or implementing new processes, systems, or workflow improvements.
- Experience working across multiple stakeholders, ideally within a multi-site or global business environment.
- Experience using Microsoft platforms such as Share Point, Power BI, and Excel
- Prior experience with Microsoft Navision 2017 and/or Armada rental systems.
- Experience developing and presenting data dashboards.
- Exposure to CAPEX project delivery and financial tracking.
- Experience in training delivery, system support, or "superuser" roles.
- Knowledge of QHSE systems and ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001).
