We're proud of the creativity, courage and care that runs through everything we do and we're looking for someone who shares that same energy.
The Role
We are looking for a Garment Technologist to join our growing Product team, working from our Claude Head Office. This is a hands on role with responsibility across the full product lifecycle, from early design development through to final production, photoshoots and launch.
Working closely with Design, Buying, Merchandising and our supply base, you will play a vital role in ensuring our products are technically sound, beautifully executed, safe and fit for purpose. You will help shape product quality, fit and construction across baby, kidswear and expanding product areas including womenswear and accessories.
This role suits someone who thrives in a fast moving environment, takes ownership, and is motivated by getting things right while continually pushing standards forward.
You'll be responsible for:
- Product development, fit and quality
- Working with Design and Buying teams during product development to achieve strong outcomes right first time, including creating initial specifications, fit adjustments, rough pattern guidance and detailed measurement feedback
- Driving product forward in terms of fit, construction and technical performance to meet customer expectations and Claude & Co quality standards
- Strong technical knowledge of childrenswear grading, including fit and proportion transitions from baby to toddler and older age ranges
- Understanding block and size requirements by category and ensuring consistent application across all clothing products
- Owning the block library and managing ongoing fit improvements and refinements
- Ensuring adherence to the required sealing process from initial design through to production sign off, with clear ownership of critical path milestones
- Proactively identifying risks and driving improvements where required to protect quality, timing and feasibility
- Risk assessing products each season to ensure they are feasible, safe and legally compliant
- Developing a strong understanding of supplier technical capability
- Supporting supplier onboarding to ensure smooth integration into the business
- Managing technical issues and progress with suppliers, keeping Buying teams and internal stakeholders informed, and developing supplier improvement plans where needed
- Working with suppliers to achieve the most cost effective production methods while maintaining required quality and style expectations
- Creating and maintaining processes for ethical standards, compliance and testing, including risk assessments on products
- Ensuring all products are managed through appropriate testing and care and safety labelling requirements
- Managing the introduction of new fabrics and components to ensure compliance and performance standards are met
- Actively adopting a Quality Assurance approach across all areas of the role
- Working closely with category teams to support product strategy, fit direction and quality across all product areas
- Confidently managing administration and follow up through internal systems such as monday.com and direct supplier communication
- Maintaining clear, accurate and up to date technical documentation at all stages of development and production
- Supporting the creative and product teams with a strong understanding of garment pattern cutting and construction
About You
- Proven experience at Junior Technologist or Assistant Technologist level and keen to develop career
- Able to confidently self manage products, suppliers and internal stakeholders while meeting commercial requirements
- Degree educated or equivalent in a recognised textile or clothing related qualification
- Experience across multi product areas, childrenswear and accessories
- Strong technical knowledge of childrenswear grading and garment pattern cutting
- Ideally a design background or strong design understanding to support creative and product teams
- Passionate about product, quality and fit, with a clear understanding of Claude & Co's brand, aesthetic and market positioning
- Organised, detail focused and confident working at pace in a growing business
- Collaborative, proactive and committed to continuous improvement
