As a teacher for Cosmo, you will have a flexible and consistent schedule that you set. We teach math, ELA, and SAT classes and have Cosmo provided learning plans for our teachers to use. Cosmo's students are based in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and across Asia. This is the perfect opportunity for experienced educators to connect with students in an after school setting. You will meet with your students at a set time each week for 50 minute 1 on 1 lessons. As a Cosmo teacher, you will build a welcoming and fun learning environment for your students as you help them grow. It is important for our teachers to be reliable role models for our students who come to class well prepared, on time, and with a passionate and kind demeanor.

• Patience: Students who need most likely struggle with a certain subject or specific problem. It may take some time for them to understand so patience will surely be one of the key skills that have to be exercised in the classroom.
• Adaptive: Every student has different learning requirements and capabilities. It’s crucial for the tutor to be adaptive so that the session could be tailored to the student’s needs and abilities.
• Considerate: Challenging questions sometimes will discourage students. It would be greatly beneficial to help them build their confidence.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree preferably in education
• 3 years of experience teaching grades K-12 and expert knowledge of K-12 ELA and math standards
• Availability: North America-based teachers on weekdays 6-9 AM or 3-10 PM EST or during the weekends; APAC-based teachers on weekdays 5-9 PM HKT or weekends 1-7 PM HKT
• 15 hours of availability on a weekly basis
• Able to commit to a year of teaching with Cosmo
• Teach on Windows or Mac PC (Minimum CPU of 6000; Chromebook not supported)
• Access to stable internet connection, private and quiet teaching location
• Expert knowledge of online teaching strategies and tools
• Passion for helping students learn
• Teaching license preferred but not required

What you’ll be doing as a teacher at Cosmo:

• Provide personalized 1 on 1 instruction for your students
• Update your availability in the Cosmo App in a timely manner
• Attend all classes on time and in a professional setting
• Utilize Cosmo's curriculum, learning plans and materials
• Submit written Class Feedback within 24 hours after each lesson
• Communicate with parents and students in a professional and timely manner
• Communicate with Cosmo staff
