A secondary school in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire is seeking a Head of Maths from January 2027. This is a permanent leadership opportunity for an experienced Maths Teacher ready to take responsibility for curriculum design, staff development and sustained improvement across KS3–KS5. The role is suited to a strong middle leader with a clear record of driving attainment and leading teams effectively.

The Maths department comprises 11 teachers, including an Assistant Curriculum Leader (currently Acting Curriculum Leader) and two additional TLR holders. One TLR holder leads Key Stage 3, while the second TLR post is currently vacant and will be available to internal applicants in the new academic year. The department will also welcome an ECT in September.

Mathematics outcomes are consistently strong, with GCSE results regularly above national averages and a high proportion of students achieving good grades. A-Level Maths and Further Maths continue to see increasing uptake, supported by a structured curriculum focused on fluency, reasoning and exam application. Departmental systems are highly organised, with centralised planning, shared assessments and consistent moderation embedded across all key stages to ensure accuracy and progression.
