SEN Teaching Assistant

Position: Full-Time | 1:1 Support | Primary School

We\’re looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a warm and welcoming primary school in Harlow. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine impact by providing one-to-one support to a pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) within a mainstream classroom setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting a student with ASD on a 1:1 basis to help them access the curriculum effectively.

  • Collaborating with teaching staff to develop and implement personalised learning plans.

  • Delivering targeted interventions and encouraging progress through positive reinforcement.

  • Supporting the creation of a calm, inclusive, and respectful classroom atmosphere.

  • Monitoring and documenting student progress, and sharing updates with teachers, parents, and external professionals.

  • Working closely with multi-agency teams to ensure holistic support is provided for the pupil and their family.

What We\’re Looking For

  • Experience working in an SEN or classroom support role (particularly with ASD).

  • A genuine passion for helping students with additional needs achieve their best.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • A proactive and compassionate approach to learning support.

  • Relevant qualifications in education or SEN support (desirable, but not essential).
