In this role, you'll be the guiding light for students with diverse learning needs, unlocking their true potential and helping them soar.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualised support and tailored learning experiences for students with special educational needs and disabilities.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and the wider school community to develop and implement effective teaching strategies.
- Foster an inclusive and nurturing environment that celebrates diversity and empowers students to reach their full potential.
- Assist with the delivery of engaging and interactive lessons, adapting materials and activities to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Monitor student progress, maintain detailed records, and contribute to the ongoing assessment and evaluation of learning outcomes.
- Support students with personal care, mobility, and other daily living activities as needed.
- Actively participate in professional development opportunities to continuously enhance your skills and knowledge.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably with a focus on supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities.
- Strong understanding of the diverse learning needs of students with SEND and the ability to adapt teaching approaches accordingly.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Demonstrable creativity and problem-solving skills, with the flexibility to overcome challenges and think outside the box.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- A relevant teaching or learning support qualification (e.g., NVQ, BTEC, or equivalent).
- Willingness to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- Right to work in the UK.
- Relevant professional references.
- Previous SEND experience is desirable but not essential.
