HLTA wanted at a Mainstream Primary School in Hornchurch, Havering! Classroom Support is in search of a committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) who is eager and passionate about assisting children with special educational needs (SEN). We are seeking an energetic and proactive individual with prior classroom experience or experience supporting students with various forms of SEN, including Autism or ADHD.
Key Responsibilities
- A Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) plays a crucial role in supporting the work of teachers and helping to ensure the smooth running of a school.
- Delivering cover lessons to whole classes or small groups.
- Assisting with planning and assessing students' work.
- Providing additional support to students with special educational needs.
As a HLTA, you will be expected to have a Level 4 qualification in a relevant subject, as well as a recognised teaching assistant qualification. Previous experience working in a school setting is necessary, along with strong communication and organisational skills. You must be able to work effectively as part of a team, follow school policies and procedures, and have a genuine desire to support the learning and development of students.
Specifications
- Monday to Friday - 8:30am to 3:30pm (Mon-Thu) & 8:30am to 1pm (Fridays)
- £(Apply online only) per day.
- Weekly pay (£(Apply online only) per week, PAYE).
- Temporary to Permanent - permanent contract available after you have completed 12 academic weeks.
Candidate Requirements
- Must have a current enhanced DBS certificate and must be registered on the update service.
- Must have experience of working in a school in the past two years.
- Must have previous experience working with pupils with SEN/learning difficulties.
- Must have a HLTA qualification.
- Must have the capability to deliver cover lessons independently.
