We are working with a large SEN school just outside of Ashford who are looking for experienced and qualified Learning Support Assistants to start throughout May. The school is an independent, coeducational, day school which caters for students across Key Stages 1 – Key Stage 4 with EHC Plans of social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties and a range of additional learning difficulties including Autism and Moderate Learning Difficulties.

Your key duties as a Learning Support Assistant will be to:

  • Support students 1:1 and on a small group basis.
  • Follow IEPs.
  • Manage any challenging behaviour.
  • Work under the direction of the class teacher.

It is essential that you have previous experience supporting pupils with SEN and being able to help children with their work who are academically struggling. The school is set in a beautiful rural site of Ashford and is housed in a range of buildings, from converted farm buildings to award winning buildings of four newly built classrooms. Students use the site for sports events, archaeological digs and ecology studies as well as being given the opportunity to grow fruit and vegetables and take part in vocational studies with the workshops and kitchen spaces.

Please note if you do not have a DBS on the online (update service) you will be required to purchase a new one. It must be an enhanced DBS with a children's barred check.
