The predicted salary is between 1000 - 1050 £ per month.

Classroom support are excited to be working with a school in Orpington/Bromley who are looking to recruit a number of Learning Support Assistants to start over the next few months on long term contracts. The school supports students across Primary and Secondary with SEMH. The environment can be very challenging in terms of behaviour; however, there are opportunities for progression with this amazing school. The roles will be starting on a supply basis and then going permanent with the school between 16 and 20 weeks into the contract.

It is essential that you have some of the below experience:

  • Experience of supporting children/young adults with challenging behaviour
  • A keen understanding of being able to create bonds with students that have had challenging backgrounds and to be able to quickly build trust
  • Worked within a Pupil Referral unit or SEMH school within the past 24 months is highly advantageous
  • Experience Teaching students within SEN schools or candidates with a mental health support/young offenders background would be strong candidates
  • Any experience of restraint training is highly advantageous but not necessary as the school use this as a last resort in all cases
  • Solid knowledge and experience supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs
  • Any understanding of supporting children within the foster system is also advantageous or looked after children
  • Any background in Mentoring young people

The rate of pay is £100 to £105 per day for the right candidates. Working hours are 8am - 4pm - Monday to Friday. Weekly pay (term time only).

You will need a DBS on the update service or be willing to pay for a new one that we can help you with if need be.

Additional Information: A sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection is essential for this role. All applicants will be subject to safer recruitment checks, including references and an Enhanced DBS check in line with DfE guidelines.
