A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Greenwich is seeking an experienced and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school, making a real impact on pupil progress and classroom outcomes. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about education, confident leading groups and whole-class sessions, and committed to supporting children of all abilities to achieve their best.
The Role:
- Deliver planned lessons and learning activities in the absence of the class teacher
- Support teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1, and/or KS2 as required
- Lead small group interventions to support pupils in closing learning gaps
- Work with class teachers to plan and adapt resources to meet pupils’ needs
- Support behaviour management and promote positive learning environments
- Provide targeted support to pupils with additional needs, including SEND
- Monitor, assess, and feedback on pupil progress where appropriate
- Contribute to the wider school community and support day-to-day classroom organisation
The Ideal Candidate:
- Holds HLTA status or equivalent experience working at HLTA level
- Experience working in a primary school setting across different key stages
- Confident leading whole-class sessions and small group interventions
- Strong understanding of the primary curriculum
- Calm, proactive, and adaptable approach to classroom support
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Passionate about supporting children’s learning and development

- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
