The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role. I am working in partnership with one of my nurseries offering an exciting opportunity for ambitious, motivated and professional qualified practitioners to join our friendly and experienced team. The Nursery provides care for children from 2 to 4 years old, term time only and an additional 12 weeks of the year of holiday provision for 2 to 5 years old.
The role could incorporate managing the holiday provision for the right candidate. This element of the role would include planning activities, ensuring staffing, maintaining a safe and engaging environment, and liaising with parents about the holiday programme. The post requires initiative, patience, flexibility and a desire to become part of a happy and purposeful team. Referees for shortlisted applicants will be contacted prior to interviews.
Responsibilities of the post:
- Assisting the Room Leaders with all aspects of provision
- Supporting preparation of activities providing a safe stimulating environment
- Assisting in the dining hall at lunchtime
- Assisting in supervising children at mealtimes, encouraging them to eat healthily and developing independence and social skills
- Supporting in the provision of a safe, happy and clean environment
- Being responsible for reporting all accidents, safety hazards or observations of children who are unwell
- Meeting children’s personal care needs including toileting and nappy changing
- Assisting in helping the children to sleep after lunch
- Ensuring all health and safety standards are adhered to
- Being fully aware of the safeguarding responsibilities
